Thematic presentations and meeting of the working groups on Tourism and Business Cooperation
“SYNERGASIA Ltd”. participated in the conference entitled: Thematic presentations and meeting of the working groups on Tourism and Business Cooperation», which took place on May, 28th in Brussels.
Priority of the conference was the presentation of thematic sections on 1) tourism (promotion of sustainable tourism, e.g. cultural tourism and specific forms of tourism, such as tourism and youth entrepreneurship, maritime education etc.), 2) business cooperation, and issues such as transport, water issues and climate change in the Balkans and the Black Sea.
The issues discussed on the tourism sector were the following:
- State of play of the WG on Tourism
- Next steps of the WG on Tourism
- EU actions promoting sustainable and accessible tourism: concrete tools and funding opportunities
- Sustainable Cultural tourism in the Balkan Sea area: Optimizing the existing trends and promoting new ones
- Tourism and Youth Entrepreneurship
- Issues of maritime training in the Black Sea area: Yacht style cruising and standardization of skippers qualifications
- Tourism opportunities in Thrace
- Sustainable tourism in Danube Delta Biosphere Reserve
The issues discussed on the field of business cooperation were as follows:
- State of play and next steps of the WG on Business Cooperation
- Increasing Business cooperation and entrepreneurship through interregional networking
- Social Entrepreneurship in the wider Black Sea area
- Integrative Black Sea projects of Rostov region
Moreover, there were thematic presentations on the next sectors:
- Cohesion
- Maritime Issues
- Energy & Climate Change
- Macro-regions
- The Baltic sea experience
The overall objective of the conference was to encourage the dialogue and the cooperation among the states in the Balkan region and the Black Sea. Continuous dialogue and cooperation among the countries of these regions can support the completion of such an institutional framework, which will support full integration of these regions in the EU and will improve their relations with it in a wider context of enlargement and integration in the most possible areas.
At the same time, significant is the contribution of a constructive dialogue among them and their cooperation in peace and stability in the region, promoting regionalism and encouraging the application of the principles of subsidiarity and complementarity in local, regional, national and European institutional levels.
