Info Day on the Horizon 2020 Work programme 2016-2017 ‘Secure, Clean and Efficient Energy’

The Innovation & Networks Executive Agency and the Executive Agency for Small and Medium-sized Enterprises organized on behalf of the European Commission’s Directorates-General Research & Innovation and Energy (ENER), an event, on 14th and 15th September to present the new work program for 2016-2017 in the field of H2020energy research, entitled: «Info Day on the Horizon 2020 Work programme 2016-2017 ‘Secure, Clean and Efficient Energy».

The first day of the event (14th September) the new work program for 2016-2017 in the field of H2020energy research was presented. The presentation consisted of 3 different sessions. In the first session “Session 1 - Energy in Horizon 2020 and general information on the 2016-2017 work programme of the ‘Secure, clean and efficient energy’ societal challenge” were discussed issues, such as the overall objective of H2020energy research, the creation of energy from low carbon resources, the energy efficiency and the creation of “smart cities” in the section of energy.

In the second session was discussed the implementation of the program and the role of INEA and EASME, while in the third session, were presented various issues, on international cooperation, social and human science, carbon capture and storage, EURATOM etc.

The new Working Program will give more than 1 billion euro to the support of activities, regarding energy and innovation and will work as a basic tool for the addressing of different issues and challenges, in order to create for the European customers, households and businesses the ability to obtain and use secure, sustainable, competitive and economic power. Achieving this goal will transform the existing energy system to a sustainable energy system.

 “SYNERGASIA Ltd" attended the event, achieving an accurate picture of energy saving issues and the role they play research and innovation in those, in order to be able to apply the new tools and techniques available in the working program to SMEs and sectors of its activity.
