EUROMED Invest Academy in Belgium – Get to know and work with the EU and its institutions to develop investments and SMEs in the Mediterranean
Brussels Chamber of Commerce and Business Federation organized a workshop, entitled “Get to know and work with the EU and its institutions to develop investments and SMEs in the Mediterranean”, which took place June 16th and 17th, in Brussels.
The purpose of the workshop was to inform participants about the cooperation with the European Union and its institutions, for the exploitation of all the possible means of them which can support the Companies, basically on the implementation of their business investments in the Mediterranean region.
In the workshop participated instructors specialized in the promotion of investment and in issues of business support services as well as in encouraging new entrepreneurs. Additionally representatives of various interest groups and international companies participated in the conference, in order to share their knowledge and experience.
On the first day (June 16th, 2015) during the first session (Session 1: Get to know and work with the EU institutions. European Parliament activities on the Mediterranean region) the participants discussed issues concerning the European institutions and how people can work together with them, while at the same time were presented European Parliament's activities in the Mediterranean region.
During the second session (Session 2: Shaping the new European Neighborhood Policy: priorities for the private sector) were presented the priorities that should be undertaken in the private sector in order to create a new, long-term and sustainable European Neighborhood Policy. In the third session of the same day (Session 3: EU funding opportunities to Southern Mediterranean business organizations and SMEs from DG NEAR) funding issues in the southern Mediterranean regions Enterprises by the DG NEAR were discussed, while during the fourth session (Session 4: Current and Potential new EU funding opportunities open to Southern Mediterranean business organisations and SMEs from other EC Directorate Generals) were presented existing funding opportunities for the businesses of South Mediterranean from various Directorate Generals.
The second day of the seminar included four different sessions. Specifically, the sessions of the second day were as follows:
- EU trade policy and market access in the Southern Mediterranean
- EU – Mediterranean Industrial cooperation
- European technical standards/legislation and implications for business
- Impact of the Pan-euromed rules of origin
“SYNERGASIA Ltd" participated in this workshop, under the continuous enrichment of knowledge and information on issues relating to modern investments and the overall support of SMEs.
