The 'Cell of Alternative Youth Activities' (KEAN) in cooperation with domestic and European institutions, under the auspices of the Ministry of Environment and the International Olympic Academy organized from July 15 to 16, a Conference on "CIRCULAR ECONOMY - Sustainable Development - Environment - Employment of the economic crisis", which took place in Ancient Olympia.
The purpose of the conference was to inform participants about the Circular Economy and connecting it with the Sustainable Development, Environment and Employment, in the period of economic crisis through a series of speeches, lectures and open discussions, which processed and analyzed in depth these themes and issues arising from them.
The importance of this conference lies in the need of understanding by the society in general, that the above mentioned (Circular Economy, Environment, Sustainable Development and Employment) are links in the same chain and directly affect the lives of people today but also of future generations.
The conference was opened by Deputy Minister of Environment, Ioannis Tsironis, who participated in this, the entire weekend, stressing in his speech the need for improving the competitiveness and extroversion of the Greek economy, which can be achieved by saving significant financial resources, strengthening innovation and the adoption of the Principles of Circular Economy, utilizing waste as significant resources aimed at high productivity through the application of Best Available Techniques and through energy efficiency and tackling climate change.
Executives of the copmany "SYNERGASIA LTD" actively participated in this two-day conference, realizing the need of developing an open dialogue about the opportunities, obstacles and experiences in these issues. The aim of the company's executives was their awareness of these issues, but also to explore the possibility of future synergies with the local bodies for the further use of the knowledge gained during the conference and implement it through specific strategic directions
